Therapy for Cultural and International Identity Issues

It is sometimes important for those from minority groups or foreign cultures to explore related issues in therapy. Dealing with cross-cultural relationships, work or educational settings, or intergenerational immigrant family issues can be both rewarding and stressful. It is easy to feel caught between cultures. These conflicts can in some cases complicate identity development as inner conflict reflects the outer tensions.

Whether it is the main focus of therapy or an added dimension, developing an understanding of oneself in context of family and culture can provide a basis for finding creative solutions to personal and cultural conflicts.
